i'm trying to break your heart
May 19 03I finally got a chance to see Sam Jones' film about Wilco "I'm Trying To Break My Heart" and at the risk of sounding way too obvious and trite, it really did break my heart. It has been well documented what the film is about...the band's story couldn't have been written better by a hollywood screenwriter...so i won't go into it here. I'm more interested in the way the film made me feel. I felt really really sad and really inspired at the same time. I had butterflies the whole time. I am not a huge Wilco fan. I only own one of their records and its Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. But I was completey won over by the band and by this film and now that I am writing about it I feel like I'm watering down the feeling I had...taking away it's magic. So i think i'm going to stop here. I can't explain the way it hit me. All i can say is that i haven't felt this moved in a long time and that you should check it out if you haven't seen it yet. << Back To Diary
