album news + tv appearance

It's been quiet around here as of late as far as news updates are concerned. Been quite busy. In the final stretch of recording for the new album. I'm pretty happy with the way it's turning out. It's been a very rewarding process in that this is the first album I've essentially engineered and produced myself. Most of the recordings are happening at my drummer Eric Micali's house and I've experienced a ton of help from him (Thanks Eric!). Not sure how to characterize the record except that it's direct and efficient and catchy and biting. I think it will turn out to be a very tight album.
In other news, last week I took a break from recording to appear as a guest star on NBC's "30 Rock" as the love interest of Tina Fey. It was a great experience getting to work with Tina as well as Alec Baldwin, Judah Friedlander, Jane Krakowski and the rest of the gang. Thanks to all the cast and crew for making me feel at home. It's been a while since I've done an acting gig and this one was certainly a great way to get back into it. The episode is scheduled to air on November 15 on NBC. If you haven't seen the show, definitely tune in. It's incredibly funny and smart.
That's it for now. I'll have more specific album news (title, songlist, release date) in the coming weeks. Just wanted to touch base and let everyone know I'm still here in the background keeping busy.
