Studio Update 8/09
Almost done tracking. Now its just the fun stuff. This morning we had a string quartet come in to lay down some parts I had in mind for a song called Now Is No Time. We've had a bunch of guest musicians stop by so far: New York City singer-songwriter Briana Winter sang backup on a song called Teach Me, Dave Bassiri on lap steel, banjo and guitar and Mickey Riad on piano, both from the band Noba, and our new friend officer Ben Cruz played some trumpet and french horn on a few tunes. so yes, this record is full of shit. shit i've always wanted to try and figured this would be the record i would do it on. basically the only guideline we've followed, particularly with our guest musicians, was not to think too much and not to work out any parts but to just get in there and play and let the chips fall.
Mixing starts on Tuesday. Shooting for a late October release. More on that later. Oh and there is officially a name for this album. Not ready to share. But i will tell you that there is a name. See you in October. More updates soon.
